Every so often we like to think back to events we’ve done! This was in particular was a great event with a great view!

HC was honored to cater a special dinner for exclusive guests in the observatory at Mount Wilson. Here the team comes together to prepare, and serve a delicious meal for 70.

Did you happen to see the post on 100 Layer Cake last week? If not, check it out HERE. We were thrilled to be a part of this super awesome wedding. The details were perfect and the vendor list was amazing! You can read more about it on 100 Layer Cake.

The appetizer menu included three of our most popular items:

  • Chicken Empanadas
  • Maple Chicken Bite
  • Seared Beef Tenderloin Canape

The dinner menu was fun and casual:

  • Fresh tortilla chips
  • Guacamole
  • Kingston Special: three taco entree selections (carne asada, chicken, carnitas, mixed vegetable, tofu, and potato). includes rice, beans, cilantro, onion, lime, rasta island fusion, rasta red and mild green salsas.

Featured Event: Backyard Dinner Party

One of our favorite repeat clients hosted an intimate backyard dinner party. We thought we’d give you the breakdown of the event. Some of the rentals included our:

  • 8′ x 4′ Wooden Tables
  • Fruitwood Folding Chairs
  • String Lighting

Appetizers:

  • Barbequed Oyster: grilled in a half shell with garlic oregano glaze
  • Smoked Salmon: atop an herbed bilini with capered creme fraiche
  • Roasted Tomato Caprese: with basil pesto, garlic roasted tomato and burrata

Dinner:

  • Huntington Salad: field greens with green apples, crispy pancetta and roasted almonds tossed in a light shallot vinaigrette
    add: goat cheese
  • Mesquite Wood Smoked Trip-Tip: with chimichurri, cabernet demi-glace or horseradish cream
  • Stuffed Chicken: filled with chèvre cheese and basil, topped with mushroom wine sauce
  • Wild Mushroom Ravioli: topped in a brown butter sauce & parmesan shavings
  • Garlicky Roasted Fingerlind Potatoes: yukon potatoes roasted with a generous portion of garlic, parsley, lemon and onion
  • Asparagus Spears: seasoned with lemon zest and garlic

Dessert:

  • Handmade Sorbet: in a natural fruit cup
  • Crème Brulée: caramelized on site, served with fresh berries

St. Patrick’s Day Catering

Looking for a last minute St. Patrick’s Day menu idea? On Thursday we had an opportunity to cater an awesome Irish event at Hangar 8 in Santa Monica. We served up some Smoked Salmon atop an herbed blini with capered crème fraiche. It was definitely a crowd pleaser. Here’s what the rest of the menu looked like:

  • Beer Battered Haddoc with Malt Vinigar and Steak Fries
  • Buttered Potatoes, Cabbage and Carrots
  • Hand Pies: Beef Pot Pie, Chicken Pot Pie & Lobster Pot Pie
  • Homemade Corned Beef with Au Jus and Mustard
  • and so much more!

Bags & Bubbles

Bags&Bubbles

Come join us for a night out on Thursday, February 27th in Pasadena. The Bags & Bubbles event will be hosted by the Southern California Children’s Museum, a non-profit for children and their families. Join the fun for a good cause with a silent auction of high-end designer bags. We will be there passing hors d’oeuvres as well!

One hundred percent of the proceeds raised from this event will benefit educational programming offered by the Museum.

Have you noticed our increased presence in the social media world? You can thank Leah over at Freutcake for the inspiration! Leah hosted a two-day workshop for bloggers called Freutcamp. Luckily, she asked us to plan what the ladies would be eating for lunch.

We decided it would be the perfect event to test out a few new ideas! First, we served up some Mediterranean gyro wraps for the ladies fresh off one of our new Cali Carts. The second day, we decided to switch it up with an Asian bento box (pictured above).

Bento Box includes:

  • Hibachi Salmon
  • Chicken Satay
  • Cucumber Salad
  • Edamame with Roasted Shiitake Mushrooms
  • California Roll

Featured Event: Maserati & GQ

This week’s featured event came fully equipped with one of our favorite venues, delicious food, beautiful cars and great guests. We’re talking about the event we catered for Maserati and GQ at the Marvimon. Marvimon is located in downtown Los Angeles and there’s no shortage of exposed brick walls and an awesome vertical garden. Add a few luxurious cars and the event was good to go!
